w/ WNT midfielder Tiffany Roberts

Tiffany Roberts may or may not need some sort of therapy. Regardless, with 25 prompts on topics both easy and tough, we play psychiatrist to get a candid look inside the mind of the versatile 25-year-old U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder.

After serving as a super sub for the U.S. Women from 1994-1999 and being part of the 1996 Olympic and 1999 Women’s World Cup championship teams, the native of San Ramon, Calif., endured an almost three-year absence from the U.S. squad. But based on her excellent performance in the WUSA this season, Roberts made her return appearance for the USA and earned her 81st career cap in the team’s convincing 4-0 win over Norway on July 21. Known as arguably the toughest pound-for-pound player in the WUSA, she has played a major role in helping the Carolina Courage go from worst-to-first and win the 2002 regular season title. Roberts’ future is back on track, with a chance to play in the Founders Cup II in just over a week and then the possibility of pulling on a U.S. jersey again to help the women qualify for the 2003 Women’s World Cup in late October.
