Father's Day Gifts from the WNT
The U.S. Women’s National Team is deep into intense daily practices now as the dog days of summer approach during Residency Training Camp at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California, but that doesn’t mean they can’t hydrate well and think of some good gifts for dear old dad. Here are a few of the gifts the dads of the U.S. WNT players will be receiving for Father’s Day. (Although, Heather Mitts still needs some suggestions).

Forward Christie Welsh for dad Don Welsh
“I’ll probably buy him a book. He likes history, nature and sports.”

Forward Abby Wambach for dad Peter Wambach
“Being a big family, we think it’s more logical to pool our resources and get one big gift for Father and Mother’s Day. As I am the youngest, and live the farthest away, I get no say in the gift.”

Defender Tina Frimpong for dad Joe Frimpong
“We normally just take him out to dinner and get him a funny card. We don’t do anything too big.”

Forward Natasha Kai for dad Benny Kai
“I’m going to call him and tell him I love him.”

Cat Whitehill for dad Phil Reddick
“I’m getting him something from Nike, probably a golf club. He loves golf.”

Midfielder Aly Wagner for dad Dennis Wagner
“I’m flying home and we’re going wine tasting in the Santa Cruz mountains.”

Midfielder Leslie Osborne for dad John Osborne
“I sent him a card and some tennis shoes and some soccer gear.”

Midfielder Lindsay Tarpley for dad Gary Tarpley
“I got him a card and a plaque with an inspirational saying on it, and I’m going to make him dinner when I go home.”

Forward Heather O’Reilly for dad Andy O’Reilly
“A week of good company. He and my mom came out to visit last week.”

Defender Heather Mitts for dad Dr. Don Mitts
“Dinner and a present, but I don’t quite know what that will be. He’s a very difficult person to shop for so I’m having a hard time thinking of something right now.”

Defender Christie Rampone, for husband Chris and dad Rob Pearce
"I've got two dads to get presents for. (Her daughter) Riley got her dad a photo book of her life so far, all pictures of her with her dad. It says, 'Happy Father's Day! From your little Munchkin.' My dad is easy, he just likes athletic apparel."
