Should Zidane Have Won the Golden Ball

We usually reserve "50-50 Ball" for debates relating to U.S. soccer, but we couldn’t pass this one up.

Head butt and all, Zinedine Zidane won the World Cup Golden Ball. But should he have? Sure, his play during the tournament was remarkable, especially in the knockout stages, but was it all erased with his retaliation at something Marco Materazzi said to him in overtime of the final? And should FIFA revoke the award back and plop it into the hands of Fabio Cannavaro?

We want to know what you think. Write in to centercirlce@ussoccer.org and let us know. We’ll post your comments for and against next week.
